TJ's Television Debut!

Today was a big day! We went down to the lake for the weekend so we could go to the Penn State vs. Illinois game in Champaign. We planned ahead to tailgate and had a nice big group. Unfortunately, most of them were Illinois fans but my family was all decked out in our Penn State gear. TJ even dressed up in a lion costume complete with a navy and white striped scarf that grandma knitted for him!

The weather was pretty crappy - very chilly and overcast all day. TJ was a trooper though, he was happy the entire day. It's a good thing we had the lion costume, he kept super warm. He didn't pay any attention to the actual football game but was super intrigued at all the people around us. The few Penn State fans that were sitting by us were very impressed by his costume. Some people may think we're crazy for taking our 3 month old to activities such as this but the more places we take him the easier it becomes and the better he is in these situations. He spent about 4 hours in my lap and didn't complain at all.

Towards the end of the game most of the Illinois fans were leaving (they were losing pretty bad) so we went down towards the field and over to the PSU section to try and get a picture with the lion. We got a lot more than that! The PSU fans couldn't get enough of TJ the lion - I had person after person ask if they could take a picture of him. One gal even told her husband that she wanted a baby just so she could have a mini lion like TJ - her husband was not amused, haha. The lion was also impressed, coming right over to take pictures with TJ.

Low and behold, we suddenly had camera crews on us filming TJ the lion. When the camera appeared lots of people were jumping around trying to get in front of us. The camera guy actually asked people to move and said he wanted to get a shot of the baby! A short while after the game grandma and grandpa Cedar called and said we were on TV! They had us on for a good 10-15 seconds. TJ is famous!
